Continuing Education Programs

WisdomBridge is now offering programs to fulfill requirements for Continuing Education for Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Our programs are intended to deepen the dialogue around how we approach the challenges of working with wounds to the soul, to the deep emotional self as D H Lawrence says. Check our calendar listing and look for the events that specify that they include CEU's. Below is the description of our intention.

Psychotherapy originally meant "attending to the soul." In a world increasingly ruled by the machine and in a language increasingly domina-ted by mechanical metaphor, we have lost sight of the need to care for the soul, rather than trying to fix it. Violence, addiction, alienation and depresssion are all symptoms of untended depths.

Psychotherapy, in the world of quick results and managed care, has come to see its role as handmaiden to the cultural system that wants therapists and clients to manage their symptoms in the service of "normality" or "adjustment to reality." We believe that psychotherapy can and must offer much, much more.

Our efforts will be to track the often meandering and paradoxical nature of the soul as it leads us into difficult terrain: pathology, power, grief, isolation and longing. Yet at the same time we will recall this path is in the world to which we belong and where beauty abounds. Through dialogue, lecture, poetry and imagination we will explore the wild edges of the soul’s life, developing as we go, a therapy capable of meeting the soul as it is and longs to be.

We will be posting course offerings as they are developed over the year. Workshops that are eligible for CEU's will be noted in the calendar section. Please stay tuned for upcoming programs.
